Client Goals

All clients requesting an ADU have asked for either “small”, “charming”, “efficient”, “different” or “romantic”. It seems that the smallness of this compact buildings awakens special feelings in people. There is the practical and financial aspect to build an ADU, to rent it and to get an income, but still clients want them to be special.

Sometimes the ADU is for personal use: A hide away space, an office, an art studio, a writer’s room or for a boomerang young adult child trying over and over to become independent. Under those circumstances the imagination has no end!
